Ventis, a Managing General Agent (MGA) specialising in Commercial and Residential insurance, has reported strong growth in its first full year of trading, underwriting £12 million in gross written premiums.
Since its January 2024 launch, Ventis has issued 3,000 policies, protecting £5.5 billion in assets, and expanded its team with two additional frontline underwriters. The company has also signed a distribution partnership in the Irish market.
Effective 1 March 2025, Ventis’ two Senior Development Underwriters have stepped into new management roles in the mid-market sector. Holly Mist has been promoted to Head of Schemes and Operations, while Rob Murton has been appointed Head of New Business and Underwriting.
The company has also named Ian Newman as Director of SME, responsible for developing Ventis’ strategy in the sector and working closely with brokers.
He brings nearly three decades of industry experience, most recently serving as Head of SME Strategy and Development at Covéa Insurance, where he spent the past 13 years.
From 1 April, Jenny Attewell will join Ventis as SME Lead Underwriter, working alongside Newman to strengthen the company’s SME presence. She has 18 years of experience in SME real estate, with previous roles at Direct Line, NIG, and RSA.
Gareth Roberts, CEO of Ventis, commented, “Having only set up Ventis at the beginning of 2024, I am incredibly proud of the progress the business and the team has made in such a short time. With such strong results in our first year, we have established a real foundation for our continued growth, and in creating clear and distinct roles for Rob and Holly we are positioning our team to be able to deliver that in the long term for our clients.
“By adding Ian and Jenny to our new, specialised SME team, Ventis is focussing on an area of the market that we see as a real opportunity. I am excited to work with the team throughout the next stage of the business’ growth and expansion as we move forward with our new-look underwriting lineup.”
