Australian insurance broking and distribution group Steadfast has rebranded the recently acquired, London-domiciled specialist wholesale business, H.W. Wood to HWS Specialty.
Founded in 1982, H.W. Wood has been a Lloyd’s broker since 2003, operating in France and Greece.
It has a strong presence in wholesale, retail, and reinsurance solutions, serving clients in international marine and cargo, property, fine art and specie, and other specialty areas.
In December 2024, Steadfast fully acquired H.W. Wood and HWI France.
The firm said that the rebranding combines H.W. Wood’s traditional roots with the Steadfast brand’s strength and global scale.
As part of the rebrand, the Steadfast Placements team, which provides network brokers in Australasia access to London and other specialty markets, will also adopt the new identity representing one cohesive broking operation, whilst bolstering the service offering to Steadfast networks globally.
Samantha Hollman, Chief Executive Officer, International, Steadfast Group commented, “We are excited to embark on this new chapter as HWS Specialty. The new identity symbolises the fusion of tradition and innovation with a bold vision for the future. This marks the beginning of a new value proposition and further cements our dedication to delivering innovative insurance product solutions with a client-centric approach.”
Steven Rudduck, Managing Director, HWS Specialty, added, “We remain committed to upholding the values that have defined us, while embracing the opportunities that lie ahead to expand our service and offer bespoke insurance solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients in an increasingly interconnected world.”
