Zurich Insurance Company has announced two key appointments to its Asia Pacific (APAC) Commercial Insurance business, with Robin Cooper-Driver as new Head of Financial Lines, Asia Pacific, and Edward Rayfield as Head of Casualty, Asia Pacific.
Both will be based in Singapore and will report to Liam Burrell, CEO Singapore & Head of Commercial Insurance, Asia, Zurich.
In their new positions, Cooper-Driver and Rayfield will manage Zurich’s Financial Lines and Casualty portfolios across the APAC region. They will work closely with local teams to enhance underwriting capabilities and execute strategic priorities.
Burrell expressed his enthusiasm for the appointments, stating, “I am very pleased to have professionals of Robin and Edward’s calibre join the Zurich Commercial Insurance leadership team based in Singapore.”
He added, “Their deep technical knowledge, geographic experience and strong market relationships will be instrumental in delivering leading solutions to our brokers and customers as well as driving profitable growth through underwriting excellence across our Asia Pacific businesses.”
Prior to his appointment, Cooper-Driver spent over 13 years at Zurich Financial Services Australia, most recently as Head of Long Tail Lines Australia and New Zealand & Head of Financial Lines APAC.
Before his long tenure at Zurich, Cooper-Driver worked as a Senior Underwriter at Chubb Insurance Company of Australia for three years.
Rayfield joins Zurich from AIG, where he served as Head of Casualty, Singapore & Major Accounts Asia for nearly five years.
Previously, he worked at Chubb for seven years, holding various senior positions, including Head of Casualty.
