HRP Syndicate 2689 at Lloyd’s, a specialist insurance syndicate known for providing underwriting solutions across diverse sectors, has named Giancarlo D’Alessandro as its new Active Underwriter.

D’Alessandro joined HRP in July 2024 as Head of Portfolio Underwriting and will succeed Chris Sharp, who is planning to leave HRP in early 2026 following the completion of the 2026 renewal cycle to pursue a new market opportunity.
Rose, who has been with HRP since 2022, previously served as General Counsel and Claims Director, bringing extensive experience in corporate governance and claims management to her new role.
Stephen Harris, Group CEO at Hampden, commented: “We are pleased that Giancarlo and Leah are taking on these roles. The syndicate has built a solid and profitable follow-only platform since the new management team started in 2022. With the team’s exceptional knowledge, experience and relationships at its core, this strategy continues unchanged – driving strength and confidence for the syndicate’s future.
“All staff have capital commitments to underwriting on the syndicate and these will continue to be increased each year. Giancarlo and Leah will also have the support of Asta and our two non-executive underwriting strategic advisers, Joe Battle [ex-Antares] and Mark Clements [ex-Amlin].
“The syndicate is seeing unprecedented demand for its support in providing non-competitive consortia and quota-share solutions to the Lloyd’s market. We give capital access to a balanced portfolio of risk across a range of classes, much of which is backing syndicates that third-party capital cannot access by traditional capital support.”
