Insurance broker Willis, a WTW business, has appointed James Gillespie as its new Head of Data & Analytics for its Global Direct & Facultative Specialty team.
In his new role, Gillespie will lead the development of new and innovative products, harnessing insights gained from Willis’ data sources, including the broking platform. He will report to Garret Gaughan, Global Head of Direct & Facultative.
His appointment aims to expand Willis’ client and product offering, leverage data insights to support client risk decision making, and provide Willis brokers with the ability to take new products to market.
For cedant clients, Gillespie will provide modelling insights and develop risk quantification and pricing tools that will enable them to underwrite new and emerging risks.
Gillespie has over 15 years of industry experience and was most recently, the Head of Pricing at Aon and RPC Tyche, leading international teams and supporting a broad range of clients across the direct and reinsurance marketplace.
